11. sit - seat - set
sit - to repose, to take a seat, intransitive verb. Sample Sentence: She always sits apart from the crowd.
seat - to take a seat, it is followed by a reflexive pronoun, transitive verb. Sample Sentence: Camille seated herself on the first row.
set - to place, to put. Sample Sentence: She sets the table for dinner.
12. like - want
like - to enjoy. Sample Sentence: She likes out-going fellows.
want - to desire earnestly, to require. Sample Sentence: The poor girl wants love and affection.
13. meet - mete
meet - to come upon, to be introduced. Sample Sentence: Reading offers many opportunities to meet new words.
mete - to measure, to allot. Sample Sentence: The judge meted out a stiff penalty to the dope pusher.
14. affect - effect
affect - to influence, to impress. Sample Sentence: Tension affects man's competence and efficiency.
effect - to accomplish, to produce. Sample Sentence: The purpose of the constitutional convention is to effect necessary changes.
15. dyeing - dying
dyeing - to impart color. Sample Sentence: She is dyeing her hair.
dying - to pass out of existence. Sample Sentence: Because of her stage 4 breast cancer, the doctor told her family that she has less possibility to survive and she is dying.
