Dialogue

A: Hello, RGM main office. May I help you?
B: Hello, this is Attorney Mary David of David's Law Firm. May I speak to Mr. Eaton?
A: I am sorry Attorney David but Mr. Eaton is speaking on another line. Do you wish to wait or shall I ask him to call you back?
B: I am afraid I could not wait so, I'll be glad if you would ask him to call me back in his convenient time.
A: Not a problem ma'am.
B: Thank you. Good-bye.
A: Good-bye.

Note: If your boss is speaking on another line while a client is calling, the most appropriate expression to be used is: "I'm sorry but Mr./Mrs. _____________ is speaking on another line."
