Situation: Someone calls up your boss who is not around at that moment.

Dialogue

A:Hello! LM office, May I help you?
B: May I speak to Mr. Harry Wong please?
A: May I know who is calling please?
B: This is Mrs. Heussaff, the manager of RN Suites.
A: Mrs Heusaff, I am so sorry but Mr. Wong is not in the office today. Would you like to leave a message?
B: No. Will he be around in the office tomorrow?
A: Let me check his schedule ma'am. Yes, he will be here tomorrow morning.
B: Thank you. I will be calling back tomorrow morning.
A: Thank you for calling ma'am.
B: You're welcome. Good-bye!

When your boss is not in the office you should come to an understanding with your boss as to what you should say when he or she is not in the office. The dialogue above uses the example in letter A.

Examples:

A. I'm sorry, but Mrs./Mr. _______ is not in the office today.
B. I'm sorry but Mr./Mrs. ________ is speaking on another line.
